Welcome! I am Shawn Rosinski, a fine art photographer and digital creator dedicated to capturing the unseen rhythms of the natural world. Based out of South Bend, Indiana, my work blends technical precision with deep artistic patience. I specialize in long-exposure astrophotography and documenting fragile ecological wonders—such as the mesmerizing, synchronized light displays of rare firefly populations. Through my lens, I strive to reveal the breathtaking beauty of our planet's night skies and ecosystems, inviting you to pause, connect, and protect these vanishing landscapes.
Most recently my firefly photography as been recognized by All About Photo Magazine where I was recognized as one of 10 Rising Artists to Discover and my series on Fireflies was featured. My image Fireflies and Star Trails won the director's award in the PhotoPlace Gallery exhibit "After Dark: Night, Sky, and Shadow". Another firefly photo was chosen for their exhibit "Nature" It has also been featured on both the websites of the US Fish and Wildlife and the Department of Interior.
My bird photography has been published in Birds and Blooms and my Northern Lights Photography will be part of a book about the Northern Lights in Michigan.

As noted above, I was recently honored to have received the Director's Award from Photoplace Gallery's "After Dark: Night, Sky, and Shadow" competition. Find the kind words from the Gallery's Director.
The Director’s Award goes to Shawn Rosinski for his image Fireflies and Star Trails.
This image beautifully captures the fleeting and transformative nature of the night. By combining the
delicate glow of fireflies with the sweeping motion of star trails, the photographer reveals a world that
exists beyond ordinary perception. The layering of time, light, and movement creates a sense of wonder
and discovery, inviting viewers to slow down and experience the rhythms of the natural world after dark.
The work embodies the spirit of After Dark by demonstrating how photography can uncover beauty,
mystery, and connection in the darkness.-Zach Hoffman, PhotoPlace Gallery Director
